A good brush turns an average product into a good result – a bad brush turns the best product into streaks. That is why we built our brush collection the way a make-up artist packs their case: numbered, with a clear job, in three fibre types. Here is the complete overview – and three sets for three levels.
Complexion: the brushes for foundation and powder
- No. 1 large powder brush – big, soft, round: spread loose powder sheer, remove excess.
- No. 3 paint brush in mixed fibre – the all-rounder for foundation and creamy textures, streak-free thanks to the mix of natural and synthetic fibre.
- No. 4 foundation brush – flat and dense for precise, full-coverage foundation; our standard backstage.
- No. 7 concealer brush – small and firm for dark circles, redness and blemishes.
- No. 13 Kabuki multitasking brush – short and dense: powder, foundation and bronzer in one; the travel brush.
Cheeks and contour
- No. 2 large angled blush brush – the angle follows the cheekbone; blush and bronzer.
- No. 5 small contour brush – for shading on nose, jaw and cheekbones.
- No. 14 powder & blush 2-in-1 – if you want just one cheek brush, take this one.
Eyes and brows
- No. 6 eyeshadow/blending brush – blend colour in the crease; the most important eye brush.
- No. 8 fluffy eyeshadow brush – soft transitions and colour across the whole lid.
- No. 9 pencil brush – smudge kohl, colour on the lower lash line, details in the corner of the eye.
- No. 10 eyebrow brush – brush and soften brow colour.
- No. 12 eyeliner brush – fine lash line with eyeliner or damp eyeshadow.
Lips
- No. 11 lip brush – outline and fill; makes lipstick last considerably longer than the bullet alone.
Three sets for three levels
Beginner – three brushes: No. 4 for foundation, No. 14 for powder and blush, No. 6 for the eyes. That is enough for a complete daytime make-up.
Advanced – the base set: the Basic Brush Creation bundles the most important complexion and cheek brushes in a case; the Eye Brush Creation adds the eye brushes.
Make-up artist – the full kit: all fourteen brushes. Backstage, what counts is that every brush has one job, so colours are not carried over and nothing needs washing between two models. The bamboo handles are light, the ferrules firmly anchored – with daily cleaning the brushes last many years.
Natural or synthetic fibre?
For powder products we use soft fibres that pick up colour and release it softly. For foundation, concealer and lips we use smooth synthetic fibres: they do not soak up product, clean hygienically and dry quickly. The No. 3 paint brush combines both.
