Make-up can only look as good as the skin underneath. Dry patches turn blotchy under foundation, oily zones make powder cake, and if you do not remove make-up thoroughly at night, you see it the next morning. The routine for this does not have to be complicated – three products, the right order, two rules about absorption time.
Morning: light, hydrating, fast-absorbing
Mon Secret Jour is our day cream based on aloe vera juice and hyaluronic acid. It absorbs quickly and leaves no film – the prerequisite for foundation to hold on it. Here is the order:
- Cleanse the face with lukewarm water, pat gently dry.
- Apply a hazelnut-sized amount of Mon Secret Jour to still slightly damp skin and massage in from the inside out, not forgetting the neck.
- Wait five minutes. This is the most important rule: only once the cream has absorbed does make-up follow – otherwise the foundation shifts.
- Then Ma Base Secrète Pro Primer as a thin layer, wait two minutes, foundation.
On hot days or with oily skin the primer can replace the day cream – it cares lightly and smooths at the same time.
Evening: remove make-up, then care richly
Make-up must be removed completely before sleep – including the waterproof eyeliner line. Only then comes Mon Secret Nuit: richer than the day cream, with castor oil, aloe and hyaluronic acid so the skin stores moisture overnight. Use sparingly; a thin layer is enough, also on the lips as preparation for the next day's lipstick.
What you should know
Both creams are fragranced (linalool, limonene and citronellol are listed on the INCI). For normal and dry skin that is unproblematic; if you react very sensitively to fragrance, test on the forearm first – or use the fragrance-free primer as your day cream. Three mistakes that ruin make-up
- Foundation straight after the cream – without waiting, both smear.
- Too much night cream – residue in the morning makes powder blotchy; always cleanse in the morning.
- No skincare for fear of shine – dry skin produces more sebum, not less. Light care plus primer is the solution, not skipping it.
